At the Town Hall meetings we conducted in 2017, community members repeatedly said they wanted reliable and trustworthy sources of information about breast health and breast cancers. The links provided here are to sources we believe are reliable and trustworthy. If you would like information on a topic that is not included here, email us and we will attempt to research it and add it.

It is our belief that solutions to eliminate the breast cancer mortality rate disparity for African American women must include more African American women participating in research studies and clinical trials. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities minorities account for fewer than 10% of patients participating in clinical trials. More minority participation in trials and research is necessary to ensure that the discoveries, the treatments, interventions, and prevention strategies are going to be relevant to those populations.
